God opens doors!

This has been our theme for a number of weeks now.

It is about having the hope within us that God CAN open doors. It is having the faith that God WILL open doors.

There is no certainty over which doors, but at anytime in our lives we may be looking to know God's will for our future as well as asking Him to open doors of witness and testimony.

So often, we fail to see the open door or the door that is ajar because in our hearts we think that God is unable to open doors. He did it in Acts, but not now! He does it elsewhere, but not here! He does it for other people, but not for me!

When Jesus looked at the opportunities for witness and mission he declared that 'the fields are ready for harvest.' By faith he could see that God's heart was FOR men and women to be saved. He saw the open door and his instruction was to pray that there would be enough workers to step through the door and do the work of harvest.

One of the reasons that the early church saw God open literal and metaphorical doors was the prayer that took place. We are having our monthly day of prayer and fasting this Friday. It is a day when we encourage the church to come together to pray.

In Acts it talks about the church 'being of one accord' and 'having one voice.' This one voice is more important than the voice which speaks from the front. There is no power like the church united in prayer, believing God to move in transforming power.

Dave will be speaking today on 'The power of Pentecost.'
