I wannabe rich!
There are occasions when certain Bible verses really embed themselves into you and last Sunday morning was one of those occasions as I shared on 2 Cor 9:11 - 'You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.'
'Rich in every way' - knowing God's blessings, having His wisdom, being full of His love, experiencing his presence, being filled and renewed daily by His Spirit ... this is being made rich IN EVERY WAY.
'Generous on every occasion' - this is the reason God want is 'rich', to bless others and to minister to them. To the Galatians, Paul wrote: 'Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.'
Get 'rich', stay 'rich' in order to do this!
'Result in thanksgiving to God' - in all this, God is honoured. He is the One who is praised and worshipped, not us.
Our heart attitude should be that we want to bless and serve others in the local church, those within the worldwide body of believers and those in our community.
Let's seek to make this generosity a hallmark of SCC.
