'Spring is sprung, the grass is ris, I wonder where the birdies is ...'
Sorry if that is utter nonsense but my mum used to enjoy coming out with it when spring finally came.
This spring seems totally amazing after the harsh winter, with almost every spring flower and shrub seeming to be in bloom at the same time. All the cherry blossoms seem to be out too. What an appropriate time therefore to focus on new life and renewal as we move into a period here at SCC where we look at the third of our 5 B's - 'BELONGING to a church community.' This is going to be the theme for our small groups during the next seven weeks.
We are also inviting everybody who attends the church to come 'together in partnership', as we give ourselves to God's work here at SCC and think seriously about what it means to be part of SCC.
My prayer is that this season in our church life reflects what is going on in God's creation, with new life and commitments, the renewal of existing commitments, the thrill of seeing people being baptised and seeing real growth in the many and not just the few.
